You CAN Achieve Balance and Glow this Holiday Season

As we find ourselves approaching another hectic holiday season, acknowledging the fact that we all need a little TLC right now is crucial.  Not all stress we experience during the holidays is negative.  Running around in a thousand different directions, though, can take a toll physically and emotionally, even on the strongest of us. Carving out ways to nurture and pamper ourselves on the inside, as well as the outside during this festive time, can go a long way to ensuring that we aren’t completely depleted and haggard by the time January 1st comes around.

Here are some ideas to get you on top of your game this holiday season:

  • Drinking lots of water, especially since most of us enjoy alcohol more often at holiday parties, will keep you feeling so much better. Your skin will be glowing and hydrated and chance of headaches (often due to stress and alcohol) will be minimized.
  • Balance the unhealthy foods with some occasional healthy choices. There will be plenty of opportunities the next few weeks to eat food items that wouldn’t be on our “normal” list, as baked goods are everywhere we look. Just focus daily on enjoying a protein shake by blending fruits and veggies with some almond milk, ice, and vegan protein powder.  It tastes better than you think and your energy will stay amped up as you prevent blood sugar crashes.
  • Quality time with loved ones is priceless. Don’t forget to focus on the people in your life even though you have a million things to do. We often get so caught up in buying, buying, buying gifts that we neglect taking the time to have connections with our favorite people.  Experiences with each other will create memories that last a lifetime and can be so healing for our heart and soul.
  • Set aside time for slumber. Sleep is something we all could use more of on a nightly basis. Forcing yourself to go to bed at a regular time each night, as well as, setting aside enough hours for sleep, will give you the stamina you need to tackle any task that comes your way.
  • Pamper yourself by getting a massage. Setting aside this valuable time for YOU will ease stress and tension and will help you feel renewed and refreshed so you can keep up with the hectic pace.
  • Lastly, we all want to feel like our physical appearance is fresh during this season of celebration. There are so many options in the aesthetics industry that will help you feel like the most enhanced and beautiful version of yourself. Here are some suggestions to help you look and feel more youthful before the full swing of holiday festivities is upon us:

  • Add physician-grade skincare products into your daily regimen. This is a piece of our beauty routine that is often neglected.  Find a practice that offers medical grade skincare products and you will be amazed at the difference in your skin after just a few weeks.  Lines, wrinkles, large pores, uneven pigment and skin tone on your face, neck, and chest will be massively improved.  I even apply my skincare products to my hands, arms, and knees!
  • Get an IPL or photo facial laser treatment. IPL treatments not only pull out sun damage spots to reveal more even pigment, they also get rid of red undertones in your skin like I experience, and can help dry up acne breakouts.  Ask for a consultation to see if you are a good candidate for this quick and easy procedure.
  • Consider getting a PRP micro-needling treatment. This treatment will stimulate collagen production and will infuse your body’s own growth factors back into the skin anywhere on your body for an incredible anti-aging result.
  • Find an aesthetician that you adore and pop in for a facial specific to your skincare needs. Facials will not only remove impurities, they tone, tighten and hydrate the skin for a vibrant holiday glow.
  • Get Botox to soften and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. If you haven’t tried Botox yet, don’t feel badly.  It is never too late to relax those muscles that create crow’s feet or “11’s lines”.  Botox should be administered in a way that creates natural, youthful results, and can also be injected to relieve both migraine headaches and excessive sweating.
  • Contemplate having hyaluronic-acid based fillers injected to plump and smooth lines and wrinkles, add lift, and bring back volume. This is a beautiful way to stimulate your body to produce collagen again and can literally take a decade off your face.

There are so many options that will support achieving your best self this holiday season.  Just remember to remain present each and every day.  This will help you stay focused on the tasks at hand and will encourage balance in the midst of the chaos.  Appreciating all of the magical blessings in your life magnifies the joy that can be experienced throughout this special time of the year.  Breathe deeply, sleep enough, pamper often…REPEAT!
